Yukon Government says no to Mining Exploration in Tombstone Park

Good News!

The Yukon government has accepted the Yukon Environmental and Socio-Economic Assessment Board’s recommendation not to allow Canadian United Minerals to do mining exploration in Tombstone Territorial Park. YESAB did a thorough analysis of the impacts of 160 helicopter flights, blasting, trenching, and possible water contamination on wildlife, ecological integrity, cultural values and the wilderness park experience. YESAB determined that the impacts could not be mitigated, and Yukon government has agreed.
