Transformative Mining and Alternatives Speaker Series

This public lecture series will host panels of thinkers and leaders from across the Yukon and beyond, asking “how can we transform mining to ensure disasters such as the Eagle Gold heap leach failure never happen again? And what are alternatives to resource economies?” These talks seek to generate discussion outside of the standard economy vs. the environment debate and promise of technological fixes. We want to imagine how else we could live with landscapes. We want to challenge the assumption that in order to live, humans must cause environmental degradation. What if we were a positive contributor to Yukon ecosystems?
